The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) this Month of March launched a gorilla tracking promotion valid during the months of April and May 2015 (01 April – 31 May 2015) as well as during November 2015 (01 – 30 November 2015). The promotion is mean to enable travellers enjoy the same gorilla experience at subsidized rates
According to UWA management, during the promotion foreign non residents will pay US$350 instead of US$600 for a gorilla permit, foreign residents/expats US$300 (US$500) and East Africans will part with UGX 150,000 (UGX 250,000) a permit for a day’s tracking.
Dr. Andrew Seguya, UWA, Executive Director, says, The following promotional prices will apply for visitors wishing to track gorillas within the months April and May 2015.
Dr. Seguya added, the promotion is aimed at giving back to UWA’s esteemed customers.
Uganda is a home to more than half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. In a 2012 census, world population estimated at 880. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in SW Uganda are host to the mountain gorillas which live in organised social groups.
