Starts and ends in Kampala

Day One:

Meet and greet at 0630 hrs. Drive west, with a stopover at the Equator for photos, through volcanic formations of the Western Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The descent reveals a stunning panorama of Lakes George and Edward amidst game-filled plains. In the evening, proceed for a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. The trip passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many mammals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The bird life is colorful and abundant. For dinner and overnight, return to Mweya Safari Lodge that is beautifully situated on a bluff overlooking the Kazinga Channel and Lake Edward.

Day Two:

Two game drives on this day.  Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse Eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.  Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, de fassa water buck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck. These two game drives and the boat trips (taken prior) are a memorable method of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife.

Day Three:

Early morning departure to Kyambura Gorge. Visitors can climb through tropical forest and catch a glimpse of a variety of primates including chimpanzee. Drive onwards to Kampala, with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, arriving in the early evening.

Accommodation used:

Lodge accommodation at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge. Budget at Mweya Hostel.

Ground transportation with driver/ guide, all activities mentioned in the itinerary, all park entrance fees, accommodation and meals.

Starts and ends in Kampala

Day One:

Meet and greet in Kampala, transfer to Fort Portal (5 hours), which is nestled in the shadow of the fabled” Mountains of the Moon". Afternoon visit to Bigodi swamp, see smaller mammals and primates. Highlights are finding the rare Red Colobus monkey and the Sitatunga. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.

Day Two:

Full day in search of chimpanzee and 10 other primates including L' Hoestes, Red Colobus, Blue, Red-tailed and Gray-cheeked Mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, on primates, the forest fauna and flora. The walk is both informative and enjoyable. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge.

Day Three:

Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3 hours) following the mystical Ruwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey.  A game drive en route may offer views of lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, hyena and a variety of antelope species.  After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. Many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge.

This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.  Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge.

Day Four:

Starts and ends in Kampala

Day One:

Meet and greet at 07:00hrs at respective accommodations. Begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle. Visit the Rhino Sanctuary en-route to Masindi Town. Arrive at Murchison Falls National Park in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for a forest walk in the Budongo Forest at Kaniyo Pabidi. Primates resident in this forest include L'hoestes, Red Colobus, Blue, Red-tailed monkeys and Grey-cheeked Mangabeys. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only about primates, but also on all the forest flora and fauna and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for bird watching and for seeing primates at close quarters. Proceed to accommodation of choice for dinner and overnight.

Day Two:

On the early morning game drive via the Nyamsika plateau, you may see elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, hartebeest and many more species. After lunch, proceed for a boat trip on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream to the base of the Falls. En-route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork. From the boat you will be able to take pictures of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. Return to accommodation of choice for dinner and overnight.

Day Three:

After breakfast take a boat ride to the Victoria Nile Delta. After lunch proceed for another game drive. Return to accommodation of choice for dinner and overnight.

Day Four:

After breakfast you proceed to the top of the falls where you can see the Nile's beauty perfected!! Marvel at the Nile compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-metre gorge dropping 40 metres with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile..."the Murchison Falls". After a picnic lunch, return to Kampala arriving late afternoon.

Lodge safari used Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Camp. Budget safaris used Red Chilli Rest Camp or Sambiya River Bandas.
