APOKA LODGE

Kidepo National Park, Northeastern Uganda

Up-Market

This property comes highly recommended by the Director's of Pearl of Africa Tours and Travel.

It doesn't get more remote than this.  Apoka Safari Lodge is located in the heart of Kidepo Valley National Park, in the far northern reaches of the country where it meets Kenya and Sudan. Take a walk along a sandy dry river bed fringed with palm trees, climb to the top of a rocky outcrop and go for a game drive in an opened topped vehicle where you can virtually touch the wild.

Apoka Lodge has ten cottages built of wood, canvas and thatch. All rooms are large en-suite with balconies with lamu beds dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets. Twin rooms have two queen size beds and double rooms have one large King size bed.

The sitting rooms and private verandas have plenty space to relax, read and write letters. The en suite bathrooms have double sinks and a large shower and there is also a large outdoor bathtub carved out of the rock face for you to enjoy a bath under the stars. Water is heated by solar power and all rooms have electric lights, power points.

Facilities available are a main lounge, swimming pool and a dining hall that serves continental and local cuisines. You must take a guided walk to a Karamajong village and learn about this tremendously rich and ancient culture, take a game drive or/and spotlit or simply go bird watching into the savannah or just relax and enjoy the wilderness.
