Speke Hotel is named after the famous British explorer, John Hannington Speke, who 'discovered' the source of the Nile. Speke Hotel is the first and oldest hotel in Uganda that was built in the 1920s. it has undergone renovations but maintains a colonial ambience. It is located in the heart of Kampala city close to banks, shopping and business centres.
