PARAA SAFARI LODGE
Murchison Falls National Park, Western Uganda
Up-Market
Stepping inside Paraa Safari Lodge you are instantly swept back to the early explorer era. It is set in a lbeautiful landscaped forest on the northern side of the river Nile, about half a kilometere from the ferry crossing.
The maps, pictures and equipment of those bygone times adorn the lodge givinig it the feel of an old hunting lodge. One of the first things you might like to do on arriving at Paraa Safari Lodge is to relax at the Explorer's Bar and drink the panoramic sights and the atmospheric sounds of authentic Africa.
When one thinks of the "un-Speke-able" conditions in which the Explorers must have had to bed down, one is almost ashamed to sink into the opulent comfort of the accommodation at Paraa Safari Lodge.
The now restored Lodge has been host to many dignitaries in its lifetime - Britain's Queen Mother and Ernest Hemingway to name but a few. Set in an area of landscaped gardens, the Lodge recreated the mood of quiet elegance for a new generation of guests.
There are 50 double/twin rooms, 2 Presidential Suites and the Queen's cottage that has 2 bedrooms. All the rooms and cottage's interior have an eighteenth century explorer's theme, balconies overlooking the Nile or the swimming pool, beautiful en suite bathrooms, fans and mosquito nets.
For those who wish to relax, one can take a dip in our swimming pool, sample our cocktails at the pool bar or try out intercontinental cuisines at the restaurant. The adventurous visitor can take the challenge of hiking Murchison Falls, riding the barge/ferry to the foot of the falls or night game driving.
