Emin Pasha was an most extraordinary characters in Uganda's history. Born Eduard Carl Oscar Theodor Schnitzer in Germany, he wa a doctor, explorer, and linguist, a Christian, a Muslim and an African at heart who was also fascinated by anthropology, botany, zoology and meteorology. His influence in Uganda dates back to the late 1800s, during the time of the Scramble for Africa, he helped bridge the gap between Europeans, Asians and Africa and more importantly he was actively against the slave trade.
In that vain, Emin Pasha is a 4-star boutique hotel brings a harmonious balance between old and new influences from the architecture to the furnishings and soft touches, to those modern amenities that today's business and leisure traveler requires.
It has twenty rooms (8 Grand rooms, 8 Superior rooms, 4 Grand suites) and one self-contained flat. All rooms are air-conditioned, with internet access, satellite television (DSTV), direct dial telephone, and have mosquito nets over the beds.
FEZ restaurant and bar is open to the public as well as to guests.
